Walton Rods to Officially Launch March 1st, 2017

Updated: Aug 1, 2020

It’s just about that time!

It seems that 2017 is going to be a big year. Walton Rods will officially be launching as a focused provider of high quality, sanely priced fishing products handcrafted in the USA. To start, the Series One rods and Native Series rods will be on full display. As if that wasn’t enough, Walton Rod’s own fly line will also be making an appearance just in time for the Kickstarter, not to mention select Walton apparel items.

series one

Series One fly fishing rods

The Series One fly fishing rods are our flagship creation. With a taper designed to handle large bodied flies but still be delicate enough to land a dry with little effort, you won’t be disappointed. Every Series One rod is handcrafted in the USA with American hands. This is big deal for us and we wouldn’t have it any other way. To start, we will offer the Series One in three sizes; a 4-5wt, 5-6wt, and 6-7wt. If our pre-sales were any indication, the 6-7wts will go fast. These rods will retail at $295, however, there will be some nice early-bird discounts at the launch.

Native Series rods

Next up slated for the launch is the 7ft, 3-4wt Native Series rod. This stick was designed and co-developed by the guys over at Natives Fly Fishing. As they know, getting into hard to reach places on a small stream with a nine foot rod can be a problem. That’s where the Natives Series small water rod is going to shine. Created with a 68 million modulus graphite blank, it has a ton of sensitivity but a medium action. It’s going to be perfect for dries and smaller streamer style bugs. These rods will also retail at $295. Again, expect a free rod or so during the launch.

Performance Series fly line

Finally, we are putting the finishing touches on our signature series fly line. Just like with our rods, our line is manufactured locally and won’t cost more than a night out on the town. If you are like us, you are tired of spending almost $100 for fly line. So, we changed that. You can expect the same quality as any line you would find in fly shop, just at a fraction of the price. You’ll thank yourself later.

Stay tuned! More details to follow.
