After ten years of crafting elite fly rods, Walton Rods is proud to announce our expansion into bass fishing rods. As an Indiana-based fishing rod maker, we’ve always listened to our customers. With growing demand from the bass fishing community, we knew it was time to bring our craftsmanship and expertise into the bass fishing world.

Introducing the RCT Series: A New Era for Indiana Bass Fishing

Launching in April 2025, the RCT Series is our first-ever bass fishing rod, designed with the same attention to detail and performance that has defined Walton Rods since day one. This is the first in what will be an expanding line of high-performance rods built specifically for bass fishing and beyond.

“We’re incredibly excited to finally offer something for the bass fishing community,” says Walton Rods co-founder Brad Smith. “Indiana has some of the best small mouth bass fishing in the Midwest, and we want to make sure anglers here have rods made by professionals who understand the conditions on the water us Hoosiers see.”

The RCT Series is engineered for serious anglers. Whether you're fishing in the lakes and rivers of Indiana for fun or competing in weekend tournaments, this rod will deliver the sensitivity, strength, and durability needed to dominate the water.

Indiana’s Bass Fishing Rod Maker: Built by Professionals, Trusted Worldwide

What sets Walton Rods apart is that our rods are designed by professionals from all over the world, but we remain proudly rooted in Indiana. We understand the unique demands of Hoosier bass anglers, and the RCT Series is built with those needs in mind. From Lake Monroe, Webster, the Eel river, or down to Patoka Lake, Walton Rods is here to ensure Indiana anglers have the best possible equipment to tackle their home waters.

“We’ve been making fly rods for a decade, but bass fishing is in our DNA, too,” says Smith. “As an Indiana-based company, we’re committed to making the best rods for local anglers. The RCT Series is just the beginning—we’ll be expanding our bass fishing rod lineup quickly.”

The Future of Walton Rods: More Bass Rods Coming Soon

While the RCT Series is our first bass fishing rod launch, it won’t be our last. We’re starting with one series for 2025, but we’re already working on expanding our bass rod lineup. This is just the beginning of Walton Rods’ commitment to providing high-quality bass fishing rods built for Indiana anglers and the rest of the US, to eventually include light inshore applications, specifically.

For those who have followed Walton Rods from the beginning, this expansion is a testament to the growth of our brand and the loyalty of our customers. We’re excited to embark on this journey into bass fishing, and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.

Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to get your hands on the RCT Series when it launches in April 2025. Whether you're a weekend angler or a tournament pro, Walton Rods is here to be Indiana’s go-to bass fishing rod maker.
